The Guardian Angel Hospice interdisciplinary team prides itself on providing the highest possible level of care to all our patients and their families. The members of the team are truly Guardian Angels to us, this community, and to every single patient and family member that we encounter. The majority of the Guardian Angel team has been with us since we began providing hospice care in 2003.

Allene McCann, RN, MN - Director of Clinical Services
I have been a hospice nurse for 20 years. I graduated from LSU Medical Center with a Masters in nursing with a specialty in gerontology; I find great fulfillment in helping patients and their families with achieving comfort, dignity, and quality of life. I am the Patient Care Manager and one of the owners of Guardian Angel Hospice. By focusing on emotional and spiritual support, as well as physical comfort, we can provide comprehensive care to our patients.

Tracey McCann, LCSW - General Manager
I graduated from Tulane University with a Masters in Social Work. I began my work with hospice as a volunteer close to 30 years ago. I have always had the desire to provide support to hospice patients and families and chose to pursue my Masters in order to do so professionally. It is such a privilege to be able to be of service to people.

Dr. Stephen Kantrow, MD
I am a board certified specialist in hospice and palliative care medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine. He teaches and practices medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center and Ochsner Health System, where he also directs the fellowship training program in pulmonary and critical care medicine. He has made home visits for over 25 years, and appreciates the opportunity to make home visits for our patients and their families.

Orange Hopkins, RN
I have been a hospice nurse at Guardian Angel Hospice for 11 years. I graduated from West Virginia Institute of Technology. I have a strong work ethic, and with my co-workers, I am able to make a difference in families lives. That is why I work in hospice.

Terrie Picou, RN
As a Registered Nurse at Guardian Angel Hospice for over 6 years, I am fortunate to work closely with patients and families to educate, assist, and support them during this difficult time in their lives. I bring a sense of calm, and competence to all of my interactions with families.

Elba Amescua, RN
I graduated from LSU School of Nursing and I have been a nurse for 25 years. Being a nurse is something I have wanted to do since I was a child. I have worked for Guardian Angel Hospice for several years and I enjoy hospice care because it allows you to have a more personal connection while taking care of your patients.

Donna Foto, RN
I started working in Hospice in the 1990’s and have continued to this day. I am a full time RN Case Manager with Guardian Angel Hospice and proud to work with this group. I plan to finish my career in Hospice with this family of Angels.

Natalie Prater, CNA - Home Health Aide Supervisor
I have been working as a registered CNA at Guardian Angel Hospice since the company began in 2003. It is a privilege to provide hands-on care to my patients, and to support and educate our families so that they may better care for their loved ones. My hope is to lighten every visit with my sense of humor and optimism.

I am a registered CNA and have been with Guardian Angel Hospice for over 5 years. I have a passion for my work. I am proud of the hands-on, compassionate care that I give to my patients and their families.

Gina Jones, LPN - Office Manager
As a registered LPN, I have worked at Guardian Angel Hospice for over 10 years. I graduated from NORTI at Delgado. I employ a strong work ethic and knowledge of hospice to ensure our office runs smoothly, and I bring a positive attitude and optimism to my work in the field with patients and families.

Heather Gray - Medical Records
I have worked in the health care field for over 7 years, and here at Guardian Angel for 4 years. I enjoy being a part of this hardworking, passionate team. My dependability and thoroughness as part of the support team help our office and field staff run efficiently.

I graduated from Nicholls State University with a degree in Fine Arts. I offer our families and patients an opportunity to have portraits taken. I love having the chance to give people a memory that will last forever. I love seeing people smile!

Francinia Henry, MPA, LMSW
I completed my Masters degree in Social Work and Public Administration at the University of North Carolina. I am passionate about working with families and communities, and serving others. I view my current work with Guardian Angel Hospice as one of the most fulfilling roles of my career.

JC McCann - Community Liaison
I graduated from Loyola University and work at Guardian Angel Hospice as a community liaison. My optimism and encouraging spirit help me work with our community to improve our patients’ quality of life. I have been with the company for three years, and I enjoy this work, because we are able to be there for people during one of the hardest times of their life.
